This is all my way of saying: The rumors arent wrong.

BallroomCats is a really good time.

Cats: The Jellicle Ballis the vogueing,waackingbrainchild of co-directors Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch.

At intermission, I heard whispers about Steven Tyler being in the crowd.

People arestoked, both onstage and off.

Its, as the kids say, avibe.

The cats introduce themselves and strut their stuff.

A cat emcee teaches us cat rules and customs.

When Levingston and RauchsCatsis at its best, its metaphors slot into place with almost prefabricated neatness.

The image is clear: We see it every day on too many street corners.

But the logic of Grizabellas downtrodden state doesnt quite compute.

So how and why has Grizabella seemingly been cast off and forgotten?

But what was the conflict that needed to be surmounted to bring us to this gushing catharsis?

Especially not when theres such a full-bodied, big-hearted blowout happening on all sides.
