This film is incredible.
Thrilling, twisted, wickedly funny, and visually stunning.
The performances are phenomenal.
But though Kravitz stages some impressively bloody sequences in the movies final acts, the violence feels rushed.
As a result, those earlier, more trenchant observations about Fridas plight are underbaked by the storys end.
Kravitz knows exactly how to set this up.
And exactly how to knock you down.
And Kravitz almost pulls it off.
Its not the sudden intrusion of gore thats the issue this is a horror film, duh.
Its the sudden departure of logic.
