Starting from 2013, all Sony TVs have been HDCP compatible.
If you own a TV with Full HD resolution or lower, its designed to work with HDCP 1.4.
Other models support both HDCP 2.2 and the new HDCP 2.3 protocol.
HDCP isnt necessary if youre using an app on your Sony TV.
Therefore, a software upgrade is not possible.
The HDCP protocol works when the transmitting unit has a lower version than the TV.
