The cast of ’The Sex Lives of College Girls‘: Renika Williams, Alyah Chanelle Scott, and Ilia Isorelýs Paulino.

The Sex Lives of College Girlsis breaking new ground.

Its not real if they never have any conflict whatsoever; thats justPollyanna.

Watch the panel in full below, or read on for a transcript of the conversation.

At this point, youve been through all the major milestones that happen in one year of college.

How did you approach keeping the show fresh when you have a move-in day again?J.N.

In sophomore year, you come back and youre like, We are experts in college life.

And then life very swiftly is like, No, you are not!

We certainly havent seen everything thats gone on in these characters lives.

Ive been wondering: What are their majors?Ilia Isorelys Paulino:Thats a great question!

I think Lila is just, like, there.

I think she passes all of her classes but strictly on jokes, you know what I mean?

Alyah Chanelle Scott:Shes undecided.

:Right, right!

Renika Williams:I think Willow is a communications major because that is the most basic major.

Im sorry if anybody is youre gonna do so well with it!

But I think Willow is the punch in that wont do the internshipsafter, you know what Im saying?

You have to put in a little extra effort.

I think Willow just always told her grandma she would go to college, so she went to college.

Theres going to be some reshuffling this season.

Obviously, Renees Leighton is no longer going to be part of the show.

When you have these ensemble stories, typically every single character that you write plays a specific tonal role.

Im curious what it was like to navigate not having that tone at your disposal.J.N.

So as you shift things up, that is a task to figure it out.

The fun thing is, college is just naturally a world that keeps expanding.

There are remnants of some things that Leighton will have in common with Kacey this season or with Taylor.

The same is true for the other characters.

That allows for different dynamics to naturally flow.

So well have a lot of that with Kacey.

So it wasnt like, Bye.

It was like, See you tonight!

I was like, Guys, what are you doing?

You wanna hang out?

And they were like, Okay, we get it.

You want to be friends.

Theres no one on the outside; its just between you guys.

It felt like it was playing something a little deeper than I think is normal on a season three.

I was sitting there just tweaking them ever so slightly for TV.

It made the scene so much better.

But for me, so much time has passed.

Its been a summer since the thing happened.

Hurt kind of festers.

If it was immediately afterwards, maybe there would be some sort of fight.

:You have some time to process whats happened!

And you not doing that made me question how close you thought I was to you.Are we not girls?

Do we not do that?So that was the root of the thing.

Its not real if they never have any conflict whatsoever; thats justPollyanna.

You were like, Im a drama girl.

I am not the storyteller at a table; I am the one who will cry about my emotions.

Im curious if that changed at all this season.P.C.

I still think Im learning.

But Im learning that, actually, comedy is a very technical skill.

Ilia and Amrit, you two play two of the horniest people alive.

How do you confirm that feels grounded and real?I.I.P.

:Listen, I grew up in a very, verycontrolled situation.

My daddys a pastor, and if you know, you know!

Its behavioral science that when I bloomed, I bloomed!

And I think theres nothing wrong with it, you know?

:Ilia and I are very similar in that way.

I think all of us are horny, really.

We are sexual human beings to varying degrees; we just gotta admit it.

Belas had a tumultuous year.

Out of all of the characters, shes the only one who tried to transfer and then failed.

She has a 1.8 GPA.

Do you have dreams for her moving forward?

Are you rooting for her to go a specific way?A.K.:Absolutely!

I hope she finds her way back to comedy.

Well see if she does.

Ive learned a lot from that kid.

Has doing stand-up affected how you perform as the character?A.K.:Absolutely.

But I think its the other way around.

Belas someone whos always testing out jokes and trying to see if shes funny.

And most of the time Im not just like Belas most of the time not!

Stand-up is all about failing, and I can be better at failing.

I opened upa theaterwith some of my most amazing colleagues, and we have a stand-up stage underground.

Its the biggest theater in Bushwick.

hey come if you want to see me onstage!

And, Renika and Alyah, you both play soccer players.

What is your relationship with jockdom?

Do you feel connected to that in any way?A.C.S.

:Its foreign to me.

We have fun, though.

It becomes choreography to us, and thats how we cope.

:Yeah, because the first day of soccer training, I cried.

:We had to stop practice!

I quit every sport I ever played growing up, and so the fact that J.N.

hired me it feels like an accomplishment.

To do our own stunts?

Like, did you guys see Alyah doing it?

:We rehearse the soccer sequences, and theres camera movements and sequences and different plays.

And for some reason, when we get on the day, everybodys like, Alyah looks so good!

Can we just keep making her do it instead of the stunt double?

And Im like, Who?

And Alyah was trying to get this penalty kick.

And then she had this shocking drill ball into an upper corner.

It was, like, the best kick weve ever seen.

It was beyond professional.

What college milestones are you all excited to play moving forward?P.C.

:The first one that comes to mind is a study-abroad.

:I want to see Lila fall in love.

Who do you think shed fall in love with?I.I.P.

Someone who will let her perform and not care that shes in the spotlight.

:Someone who can go toe to toe with Lila.

:No, no, sit down!

I will provide entertainment.

Just like it, thank you.

:I mean, graduation?

Like, if we could be so lucky to get that far.

:Were on pace to hit that in season 45!

Like, she comes back with a wolf cut and is like, I go by Rex now!

you know what I mean?

:I would like Willow to run for student-body president.

A.K.:SNL.

I think thats obvious.

:Its so weird how many musical people are in this cast of television.

Its almost every single one of them.

Someone even the other day oh, Nabeel!

Nobody knows who Nabeel Muscatwalla is in the show yet, but he plays a character named Arvind.

Im giving you all the spoilers.

:It needs to be, like,Into the Woods.

I.I.P.:No,Grease.

:Ilia has a gun to Alyahs back, going sayGrease!

Im just a big gay musical theater person myself.

But its not just Glicked weekend; its also the weekend our show comes out.

Im trying to figure out what that is:The Sex Glicked Lives of College Warrior Witches?

Be sure to stay home and watch our movie too!
