There are a lot of reasons you might want to use a PS4 controller on your new PS5.
you might use a DualShock 4 controller to play PS4 games on the PS5 console.
First of all, you could do it with a wire.

After synchronizing the console and gamepad, you might remove the wire and continue playing.
you could also connect the DualShock to the PS5 via Bluetooth.
Lets take a look at each of these methods.
Wired
First, lets look at the wire method.
The charging wire for your Gamepad should come with the kit.
you’ve got the option to use it.
The controller is now paired with the PS5; you shouldnt need to use the micro USB cable again.
After parrying, you’re free to turn on your PS5 with DualShock 4. you’ve got the option to try wiggling the sticks to see if your Dualshock works.
Once connected, you will be prompted to pick the account that uses the controller.
The control and layout will be the same as using DualSense.
Will a PS5 controller also work on PS4?
Unfortunately, the standard PS5 DualSense controller will not work with a PS4.
Even when connecting the PS5 controller with a wire, the PS4 console will remain unresponsive.
Remote Play is the only way to get your PS5 controller to work with a PS4.
However, this is workable if you should probably do something with your PS4 and only have DualSense.
