Google Maps makes saving routes easy so you might access them quickly and easily later.
you’re free to save routes on your machine or mobile unit and even share them with others.
However, theres one catch.

Youre saving not the route but actually a destination.
In other words, you cannot save a route from one point to another.
you’re free to only keep your final destination point.
It will always start at your current location by default.
Then you will find it in the Go tab.

The downloaded area will be stored on your machine for 365 days.
They will update automatically if you change the route or the traffic conditions.
