Want to watchHouse of the Dragonwith us?
Heres why the series hasnt just become a better hang but a better-realized version of itself.
Weve got payoff!
Despite the pomp and circumstance,House of the Dragons first season felt like one long throat-clearing sound.
Season two plunges us straight into civil war, with the aftermath of Aemondssorta-assassinationof Luke blowing up both sides.
This, in turn, gives a sense of propulsion missing from the first season.
The answer is still yes.
And focus!
Needing to covera fair bit of temporal ground, season one also suffered from issues of pacing and scale.
Now firmly anchored to the rising warfare between Teams Black and Green, the second season justflows.
More time with more characters!
Remember Ser Harwin Strong?
How about the Crabfeeder?
Including the smallfolk!
The new episodes pay increased attention to the citizens of Westeros outside noble bloodlines.
Why?Creative decision, apparently.
Thank the Lord of Light, I guess.
Being able to actually see things has drastically changed my sense of enjoyment watching the show.
Speaking of enjoyment …
… including the sick fits!
Its way more fun!
Everyone was so stoic.
Everything looked so dark.
Nobody seemed to be having a good time, even on a hunt!
Perhaps this is fair given all thereproductive horrorand tragic familial infighting baked into the plot.
Still, the showcouldstand to be funnier.
My kingdom for a Bronn!
Now with 50 percent more Shakespeare!
And you know what?
Youd want someone on the show to be able to say Get thee to a nunnery!
and for the line to completely work in context.
Dragons go boom!
AsHouse of the Dragonreturns, its finally happening.
And it pretty much rules.
