We get an answer this week.

Want to defeat Roy Tillman?

Your first step should be getting some dupes to change their name.

(Of course, if you were named John Sasquatch, it might not take that much persuading.)

The arrival of Witt doesnt help matters, either, at least in the short term.

His next call is to Indira, whos alarmed to hear that Dots with Roy.

Dot doesnt break, however, vowing to kill Roy, and she obviously means it.

But for the moment at least, Roy has every advantage.

Even Karens not an ally.

Roys violent and domineering, but bad men come in other varieties, too.

(Or, sort of in bed.

Shes topless in the closet.)

Hes useless, Indira tells the woman.

I dont want him.

These feel like words that have been a long time coming, but it doesnt solve Indiras money problems.

She walks out to see her car being repossessed.

I hope you die in here, Nadine, and never see your daughter again, he replies.

Remember last episode when Dots puppet-assisted flashback almost made Gator seem more pitiable than bad?

This moment shifts that ratio in the other direction, especially after he chases Witt from the front gate.

Witt tries another tack when he spots Danish at a gas station.

Already mad, Roys driven into a rage by Karens post-debate analysis and takes it out on Dot.

(This happens off-screen but is no less disturbing for it.)

But Roy has some parting words: Youve always been here, Nadine, he tells her.

It was the rest that was just a dream.

Elsewhere, Indira informs Lorraine of Dots location without realizing that Danish is already there.

But Roy doesnt really hear anything after the word humiliating.

Theres a price for making Roy look like a fool, and Danish pays it.

The last words he hears: If youre so smart, then why are you so dead?

This hasnt been a particularly light season ofFargo.

Each season has been substantive in its own way, but few have felt this real.

Okay Then!

That said, theDebtors of North Dakotaimage that opens the episode is pretty funny.

So is the song that accompanies it, Poor People Store, by Shinyribs.

But his departure leaves at least one unanswered question: Howd he lose that eye?

The terrified look in Dots eye as she tells Witt shes okay?

Roys long walk to the shed and the shades of rage Hamm projects?
