The plot does what it needs to do, and it feels fresh enough this early in the franchise.

Even though he was visibly in his mid-60s at this point, his long-awaited return does not disappoint.

its by far the breeziest of the bunch.

Its easy enough to point out the flaws ofThe Wolf Man, the film that started it all.

Theres the aforementioned Romani plotline, very much a product of its time.

Theres the flimsy story, stretched out to a mere 70 minutes.

Hes certainly outmatched by the great Claude Rains, who plays Larrys father, Sir John Talbot.

And flawed or not, its tough to argue withThe Wolf Mans impact and influence.
