I love it when things wrap up nicely, dont you?

The Joy of Killing

Thats not whats happening onDexter: Original Sin, but its still pleasant to think about.

The resolutions themselves, however, are mostly clunky, reflecting the overall clumsiness of the season.

Its basically asking to get caught, his voice-over admits, and yes, it is!

Before the hand can be identified, he feeds it to an alligator.

Harry later chastises Dexter for his carelessness, but Dex really doesnt seem to be struggling at all.

(She has a way with words.)

Thats not entirely fair.

The other consequence is an end to Dexter and Sofias relationship.

He hasnt called her back because he didnt know that was an expectation, and Deb is horrified.

(Why does she know exactly what her brother and best friend did sexually?

To reiterate, we need healthy sibling boundaries!)

Sofia accuses him of cheating on her and storms off.

It was fun while it lasted, Dexter muses, and I have to disagree.

It was not fun!

It was bizarre and unpleasant, and lets hope that this relationship is over for good.

For example, the Nicky Spencer kidnapping case is the primary focus of Miami Metro for obvious reasons.

We still dont have any real leads to go off of.

Bobby and Batista share an update on the cartel theory, but they havent made much headway.

Nicky himself is making more progress, fashioning a makeshift weapon out of a metal handle.

Back at Miami Metro, Dexter is still mulling over his body-disposal conundrum.

(Keep in mind he just tossed Levi Reeds body in the trash.

How hard is it, really?)

I mean, hypothetically, he adds.

More of this, c’mon!

That moment of levity is immediately shattered when Nickys finger arrives on the scene.

Look, as far as plot twists go, Im into this!

But again, I am frustrated byOriginal Sins low expectations for its audience.

Blood Spatter Analysis

Yes, there are more Laura Moser flashbacks, including a gratuitous nude scene.

She finally meets with Estrada, who forces her to strip to prove shes not wearing a wire.

Given how poorly integrated these flashbacks have been, Im ready.

We also see Harry and Doris continuing to reconcile.

Harry sucks, but we know this already.

We get a brief follow-up to Dexter spotting Clark at a gay bar in the last episode.

Dex has no problem keeping Clarks secret (an ally!

), though he doesnt love that Clark has to live a double life.

Must we connect Clarks sexuality to Dexters serial killing?

LaGuerta and Harry are now all in on Dexters theory connecting the recent N.H.I.

Spencer seems less convinced, but then, hes probably a psychopath, so who cares what he thinks?

We get a little more investigation in this episode, and the pair is headed to Tampa next.

Sometimes he really freaks me out.
