As of April 19, 2024,Late Night With the Devilis streaming on Shudder.
Hes great in these small character parts, but he can clearly do a lot more.
The look is cheap, because its supposed to be.
The camerawork is functional, because its supposed to be.
The colors are washed out, because theyre supposed to be.
Of course, theres also a hint of uncertainty lurking beneath everything.
This man is so slick and polished because, perhaps, theres nothing else under that surface.
The uncertainty in turn feeds the menace.
The cast makesLate Night With the Devilmore than watchable, but they also raise our hopes for something better.
Part of the problem might actually be rooted in how effectively the rest of the film works.
