If anything, the episodes biggest crime is that its mostly filler.

Well, that and an appearance from Stacey Ruschspossibly fake boyfriend, TJ.

But well get to him.

I just wish the execution here were a little more interesting.

(Pretty sure theyre telling her she has severe PTSD, but Im not a professional.)

At dispatch, everyone is very supportive.

Maddie is able to locate the building, and the 118 gets to the scene quickly.

Maddie looks dizzy and panicked (more great face acting from Jennifer Love Hewitt).

Minus bleeding out from a throat wound, this is her worst nightmare.

Shes suffering from psychogenic aphonia, which means that the issue is likely related to her recent trauma.

But back to the issue at hand!

She took my voice, Maddie writes.

That may be true in the literal sense, but shes taking up ample space in Maddies head.

I miss her energy!)

(In contrast, I am comforted by this.)

(Maybe Buck just doesnt want to share the apartment.)

Were treated to an endless montage of Eddie annoying his customers by being too chatty and being denied tips.

For a moment, Eddie is thriving as a rideshare driver.

Then, the bubble bursts when one of his passengers turns out to be Christopher and his friends.

Shoutout to Chris for being more fiscally responsible than his adult father.

And yes, he does want Eddie to stay.

Chris tells Eddie hes still proud of him, and they hug and each say I love you.

This is huge coming from a surly 14-year-old.

Back in L.A., Athena pays a visit to a still voiceless Maddie.

If theres anything that can cure Maddie, its an Angela Bassett speech.

I have tussled with ghosts, too, Maddie, she says.

I cant undo what the monster did, but that fear, I can work with that.

Although Bassett obviously sells the hell out of this moment, Maddies voice remains missing.

Instead, she briefly loses Jee-Yun at the playground and gets her voice back by screaming for her daughter.

The episode ends with Maddie working the phones at the dispatch center.

Logic aside, its good to see her back where she belongs.

Hes been remanded to jail and turns himself into Athena after being rescued by the 118.

I did not end up watchingDoctor Odyssey, but I did read a recap of the crossover episode.

It sounded like a waste of Angela Bassett am I wrong?

Josh saying its always popcorn in relation to the apartment fire had me shook.

I looked it up, and cooking is by far thebiggest cause of residential building fires.

Nothing about popcorn, though.

Ill have to take9-1-1s word for it.

The PS5 promo bothered me less than that obnoxious Amazon sponcon.

It doesnt even make sense: You choose your delivery date when ordering!
